April 17-18, 2014 – The 2nd DongA Economic Leaders Academy (DELA) Overseas Networking Program’s Completion Ceremony was successfully hosted by CKGSB in Beijing. DELA students, including Korean financial corporate executives and government officials from financial authorities were certified. CKGSB has been co-hosting this program with DELA in which prominent Chinese and Korean financial experts forecast China’s financial and capital markets and share their opinions. 

On Monday, April 14th, CKGSB held a press conference at its Beijing campus to promote its recently-launched Dual Degree Executive MBA Program, in partnership with Switzerland’s leading business school, IMD. Deans of both business schools attended, and reiterated the merits of the program.

Chinese electronics retailers such as Suning Dianqi (苏宁电器) and Gomei (国美) have grown as giant corporations based on their domestic market dominance. In particular, Suning Dianqi achieved CNY 233 billion worth of revenue, outperforming China’s top home appliance retailer, Haier (海尔). Due to the two giant retailers’ market dominance, Samsung Electronics is now having difficulties establishing the independent retail network. CKGSB Dean Xiang Bing said that “since Chinese companies are based on the vast domestic market, there are many paths for Chinese firms to turn themselves into global companies” and that “this can be the great advantage for Chinese firms compared to those from Korea and Japan”.

Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) successfully held the opening ceremony for the first intake of its CKGSB Business Scholar Program (DBA) Program in its Beijing campus on November 29, 2013. All 35 doctoral candidates of the class attended this simple, academic ceremony. Dr. Xiang Bing, Founding Dean of CKGSB, and Klaus Rohland, World Bank’s Country Director for China, Mongolia, and Korea in the East Asia and Pacific Region graced the opening ceremony with their heartfelt wishes for the candidates. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Chen Long, Associate Dean for the CKGSB Business Scholar Program (DBA) and Alumni Affairs, Academic Director of CKGSB Business Scholar Program (DBA), and Professor of Finance at CKGSB.

The Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) today announced the launch of the second phase of its renowned Hunter Scholar programme. The academic scholarship offers full funding for two promising young UK entrepreneurs to study for the Beijing-based, China-focused, MBA programme.

Beijing, September 11, 2013 – Yesterday, Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), together with China CITIC Press and Thinker Future Media, co-hosted an event with Chief Operating Officer of Facebook Sheryl Sandberg to discuss women in leadership, how women can realize their professional and personal goals and the impact they can have on businesses both in China and globally. Sandberg also promoted the Chinese release of her best-selling book, “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead” at the event.
