The 2025 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list includes 6,310 scholars from 543 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, spanning 10 major academic disciplines and 83 first-level subject areas as defined by China’s Ministry of Education.
First launched in 2015, the list has now been released for the 12th consecutive year. It is based on data from Scopus, one of the world’s most authoritative abstract and citation databases, and aims to provide a rigorous evaluation of the global academic impact of Chinese scholars. The ranking recognizes researchers whose work has significantly influenced their respective fields and continues to attract widespread attention from both domestic and international academic communities.
Established in Beijing in November 2002, CKGSB is China’s first privately-funded and research-driven business school. Most of our 55 faculty members held tenure or senior professorships at top business schools—such as University of Chicago, Columbia University, University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon University, and Wharton—prior to joining CKGSB. They have received 127 global academic awards since 2015, and over 40% of them have served as Associate Editors or on the editorial review board of renowned academic journals. CKGSB’s professors have published 259 papers in top academic journals since 2015, and continue to spearhead new research frontiers, generating original insights that shape business thinking in China and around the world.
