Christopher K. Hsee received his PhD in psychology from Yale University and was awarded tenure and chair professorship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is currently Dean’s Distinguished Chair Professor of Marketing at CKGSB and Professor Emeritus of Behavioral Science and Marketing at Chicago Booth. A leading expert in behavioral science, Hsee conducts research in social psychology, emotion and happiness, consumer behavior and organizational behavior. His work has been widely cited, with more than 28,000 Google Scholar citations (as of 2025). He has received numerous research and teaching awards, including the Distinguished Scientist Award from the Society for Consumer Psychology and the McKinsey Award for Excellence in Teaching. He also served as President of the Society for Judgment and Decision Making, the leading international academic society in the field.
