In a video interview with The Wall Street Journal, Associate Professor of Strategic Management at CKGSB Teng Bingsheng discussed with The WSJ's Deborah Kan how Chinese investors, many of whom don't have direct access to the US market, plan to get a piece of the Alibaba IPO action.

On April 28th, 43 EMBA students and faculty from Mexico’s IPADE Business School visited CKGSB’s Beijing Campus for a 1-day program to learn more about doing business in China and strengthening a mutual understanding of China and Mexico. CKGSB Dean Xiang Bing and Professor Teng Bingsheng served as lecturers during the day-long event.

CKGSB’s 10-year partnership with University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business is a wonderful event that continues to benefit both schools, said Teng Bingsheng, Associate Professor of Strategic Management at CKGSB and the Associate Dean of CKGSB’s European Campus.

CKGSB Associate Dean and a world-renowned scholar on Strategic Alliance, Professor Teng Bingsheng, said that the Chinese market has experienced significant changes over the years. He pointed out that MNCs will face difficulties in winning the competition with local Chinese companies. Professor Teng said, “MNCs should not be satisfied with their standards. Because China is no longer a cheap consumption market, global companies should apply high standards in China and target customers with high-end products, not low-end ones. They also need to change their strategies to adapt to the new business environment in China. For example, they need to target the fast-rising, middle-class consumers and transform themselves from labor-intensive to technology-intensive companies”.
