China’s top brands and the companies behind the logos
Banking and insurance, resources, technology and even alcohol producers topped the list of China’s most valuable brands in 2012, according to BrandZ Top 50 Most Valuable Chinese Brands (Methodology by Millward Brown). China Mobile, valued at $50.6 billion, rules the roost as China’s most valuable brand. Already China’s largest telecommunications operator, China Mobile has continued to grow through ambitious overseas expansions. Five of the top 10 brands are in the banking and insurance sector reflecting the ongoing importance of the banking sector while the inclusion of Baidu and Tencent, leaders in China’s internet industry in the top 10 reflects the growing importance of China’s technology sector.
