Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) are again collaborating to host the 2nd Annual Global Symposium — A New Business Civilization — in Beijing, China on July 8th, 2016. This follows on from last year’s inaugural symposium held at Harvard, which was attended by more than 150 top business leaders, itself a product of a five-year collaboration between the two schools.

Today, business leaders worldwide are challenged by the net value they bring to stakeholders, society and the environment, instead of only the financial value generated for shareholders. Organizations are faced with global issues like limited resources, environmental concerns, and wealth inequality. To address these challenges, it requires a new way of thinking, doing and even talking about business.

This initiative will convene leaders from the East and the West, new and traditional sectors, private, multinational and state-owned companies to shed light on sustainable entrepreneurship. It will also offer an opportunity to 400 participating Chinese and global executives, academics and government officials to network and share best practices. Only with open dialogue can we exchange ideas and inspire change that will lead to the betterment of society.
