*Early deadlines offer applicants the best opportunity for application success and being awarded scholarships.
The following contains information on Supporting Documents, Admissions Process, and Alumni Contact Support. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact the MBA Admissions Office at email@example.com.
The supporting documents for the application package are composed of four parts:
1. Online application form with uploaded supporting documents, including
2. Two recommendation letters (instructions are in the online application)
3. Official GMAT/GRE score report (Send to the school through the test center, using GMAT code
60D-KJ-39 if you have completed the test and the result is available)
4. Other supporting documents that need to be sent to school through courier
Conditional Offer for Applicants without a GMAT Score
Applicants without a GMAT score can still submit their applications and attend the admissions interview. If the Admissions Committee decides to give an applicant a conditional offer, a conditional offer will be sent to the applicant identifying the deadline for submitting a satisfactory GMAT score.
1.Complete and Submit Online Application and Supporting Documents
Applicants must complete the online application and provide the necessary supporting documents to be considered.
2. First Selection and Reference Check
Once your application is completed, the MBA Admissions Office will review your application and verify the recommendation letters, degree certificate, and academic transcript you provided. If everything is satisfactory, you will be notified by email once we approve the interview invitation.
The interview panel is composed of CKGSB MBA faculty, alumni, and staff. The interview serves two purposes. It will evaluate the applicant to determine suitability for admission to the CKGSB MBA class and it will determine whether you are offered a scholarship. Interviews are held in Beijing and Shanghai.
The CKGSB MBA Admission Interview is composed of three parts:
Group case discussions
For overseas applicants, a telephone interview maybe selected in lieu of the in-person interviews. Arrangements will be made on a case by case basis.
4. Review & Decision
The MBA Admissions Board reviews your interview results, compares them with other applicant interviews, and makes their decision. You will be advised by both regular mail and e-mail of the decision shortly after the interview (normally within two weeks). The decision can either be an offer, conditional offer, rejection, or entry onto the waiting list. Scholarship decisions will be made in conjunction with admission decisions.
All candidates are welcome to seek feedback from the admissions office after their interview.
5. Confirmation & Registration Fee
After being admitted, applicants will have two to four weeks to make their decision on whether or not to accept the offer. If you decide to accept, a registration fee of RMB 30,000 or USD 5,000 must be paid in order to confirm your place.
6. Reapplication & Deferral
In some cases, we may encourage applicants to re-apply in later years. Reasons include limited work experience, limited management responsibility, or weak GMAT scores. To re-apply, you must complete a new application but you will not be required to re-submit recommendation letters, academic transcripts, official certificates, and GMAT score unless there has been a significant change. The application fee is required with each application.
Due to the highly competitive nature of admissions, all offers are valid only for a specific academic year. Applicants may submit an application for deferred admission if there is a need; however, scholarship and financial aid offers can't be deferred.
Application for deferral must be submitted into the Admissions Office no later than August 1, 2014.
To help you make an informed decision, we would be happy to refer you to an alumnus or current student with a background similar to yours who can share his or her experience at CKGSB. If you wish to contact alumnus, only individuals currently in the application process will be given assistance with contact. Current student ambassador contact information can be found on the Ask a Current Student page. We encourage you to contact the admissions team if you require assistance, firstname.lastname@example.org.
