CKGSB held its latest MBA China Module program at its Beijing campus, hosting the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business from the US and ESIC Business and Marketing School students from Spain as part of a specially-designed two-week course aimed at developing next-generation business leaders for the global economy.

Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) along with the Victorian State Government and the CKGSB Australia and New Zealand Alumni Association jointly hosted the 2019 China-Australia Business Forum in Melbourne on May 2nd, convening business and government leaders from the two countries to shed light on economic outlooks, bilateral relations and new growth sectors, including agriculture, e-commerce, healthcare and investment.

Korean media have been paying significant attention to the latest economic downturn in the Chinese economy. Local business newspapers and online media, such as Financial News, Choice News and Acrofan, have quoted the CKGSB Business Conditions Index (BCI) in their reports about the economic slowdown in China. The expertise of CKGSB and the BCI was highlighted by coverage using the index to explain the economic conditions in China.

In October, the CKGSB Business Conditions Index (BCI) dropped slightly from the worst reading to date in September, from 41.9 to 41.4. Although not quite as dramatic a decline as the previous month, the deterioration of conditions for doing business in China should not be underestimated. It shows that the majority of sampled companies, some of the most competitive private businesses in China, are pessimistic about their prospects for the next six months.
