MNCs’ New China Dream

January 24, 2018

As we enter a new era of globalization and business, more emphasis is being placed on the role of China and its impact on the global business community. However, operating in China is not that simple. Multinational companies (MNCs) in China are operating in a fast-changing environment, given the growth of local Chinese companies, a slowing Chinese economy and changes in the political environment.

Thursday September 11, 14:30-16:00. AmCham Shanghai Conference Center

Given this backdrop, Teng Bingsheng, Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Strategic Management at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and a CKGSB alumnus will examine the following questions:

  • How should MNCs successfully seize lucrative business opportunities provided by the Chinese marketplace?
  • How should they compete – and collaborate – with fast-growing Chinese companies?
  • How should MNC subsidiaries in China transform their model from being pure manufacturing bases for the global parent to key innovation centers?
  • What are the new challenges that MNCs are likely to face and how should they explore new opportunities?
