The Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), the leading independent Chinese Business School, has joined forces with the leading independent Swiss business school, IMD, to launch an Executive Education programme designed to provide the critical skills companies will need to succeed in China.
The programme, entitled ‘The China Strategy Challenge (CSC), is designed for senior executives who want access to the knowledge, entrepreneurial business culture and networks necessary to succeed in China.
The four day CSC programme will be held on the shores of Lake Geneva, Lausanne, Switzerland from September 2-5, 2013. The programme is designed for senior executives from companies considering China as their next big expansion as well as those who want to accelerate their business interests in East Asia.
In order to achieve this, the programme dovetails CKGSB’s East to West perspective with on the ground China research and close relationships with leading Chinese executives with IMD’s expert knowledge on globalisation and perspective from West to East.
Teng Bingsheng, Associate Dean of CKGSB commented:
“As the Eurozone faces a period of unprecedented challenge, companies are realising they have little choice but to engage with China and East Asia. In ‘The China Strategy Challenge’ participants learn how they will need to adapt to East Asia – and meet the very people who will drive their adaptation.”
IMD Programme Director and Professor of Innovation Management, Bill Fischer added:
“While many schools teach how to do business in China, the best learning comes from meeting and experiencing the unique characteristics of Chinese business leaders. It is then that one can begin to frame what will be necessary for success in China.”
The programme will therefore be in two halves: the first half concentrates on China’s global impact while the second half incorporates sessions alongside a cohort of senior Chinese CEOs to compare, contrast and resolve Western and Eastern leadership and management styles.
Welcoming today’s announcement CKGSB’s Associate Dean of Global programs and Professor of Marketing, Sun Baohong, said:
“We are very excited about our strategic alliance with IMD which fits perfectly with our focus on senior executives and policy of partnering with a world class business school to promote greater innovation in the development of mutual understanding and respect between Eastern and Western business.”
