To launch the Sir Tom Hunter Scholarship for 2014, CKGSB Europe will hold a special information session and reception on Wednesday, December 11th at the Intercontinental Hotel Park Lane in London. The launch event will feature a special discussion led by Sir Tom Hunter on his vision of global entrepreneurship and the scholarship program and an introduction to Chinese business and the CKGSB MBA program by Professor Li Haitao, Associate Dean of the CKGSB MBA program and Chair Professor of Finance.
The Sir Tom Hunter Scholarship was created through a partnership between Sir Tom Hunter and the CKGSB MBA to encourage up and coming business people to expand their visions beyond the United Kingdom and provide them with the support and platform necessary to become entrepreneurial leaders that can successful bridge Chinese and European business communities. The Sir Tom Hunter Scholarship provides two full tuition scholarships to attend the CKGSB MBA, the leading 14 month MBA program in Beijing, to develop an exceptional knowledge of global commerce and a deep connection with Chinese business.

Sir Tom Hunter
Sir Tom Hunter is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Scotland’s first homegrown billionaire. A longtime advocate for “venture philanthropy”, Sir Tom Hunter was knighted in 2005 and received the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy in 2013. In 1998, Sir Tom Hunter and his wife, Marion Hunter, founded the Hunter Foundation, an organization dedicated to affecting positive social change through the support of education and entrepreneurship.
Professor Li Haitao is the Dean’s Distinguished Chair Professor of Finance and Associate Dean for the MBA Program at CKGSB. Previously, he was the Jack D. Sparks Whirlpool Corporation Research Professor in the Finance Department of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also served on the faculty of the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. Dr. Li serves on the editorial boards of Management Science (the Department of Finance) and the International Review of Finance. Dr. Li holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Yale University.
Professor Li Haitao’s areas of research include theoretical and empirical asset pricing, continuous-time finance, term structure, credit risk, option pricing, financial econometrics, and hedge funds.
