Global Economic Outlook: Russia and the World
August 18, 2015

Every year, thousands of the top government and business leaders from around the world gather in the Russian city of St Petersburg to identify and deliberate the key challenges facing emerging markets and growth economies, Russia and the world, and engage communities to find common purpose and establish frameworks to forge solutions.

In the video below, which rounds up the highlights of the 2015 forum, CKGSB Founding Dean Xiang Bing is quoted comparing the correlation between fast economic growth and worsening inequality.

Increasingly, the world appears to be entering a period of uncertainty, with topics being discussed including the fact that Western style democracy is no longer seen as the only route to economic development, plus weighing up the pros and cons of the new Asian Infrastructure Investment Banks (AIIB). Other forum participants quoted in the video include:

  • Dennis Nally, Chairman, PwC
  • Jack Ma, Executive Chairman, Alibaba Group
  • Jacob Frenkel, Chairman,  J P Morgan Chase
  • Paulo Nogueirga Batista, Executive Director, IMF
  • Kevin Rudd, Former Australian Prime Minister
