Japanese companies should find a way to promote their manufacturing ability to China now, Dean Xiang said, because it will take China 10-20 years to get the full benefit of its current R&D efforts. He also discussed ways in which Japanese and Chinese collaboration is still effective despite the current political situation.
A one hour Q&A session followed the speech, which was well received by the Japanese audience.
