China is the world’s second biggest economy and its fastest growing. Like many other cities and countries that experienced rapid growth – like London, New York, and California – the growth is posing seemingly unsolvable environmental problems such as pollution’s contribution to poor air quality. Though China will benefit greatly from continued economic success, both the government and people are recognizing economic progress must couple with sound policy and reform.
The renewables revolution is well underway and has helped to reduce pollution and hasten the transition to a low carbon economy. Were China to take advantage of this growing industry and implement effective policy, it would acquire a characteristic necessary to establishing a healthy future for any nation: sustainability.
How China can take advantage of the opportunity presented by renewable energy forms and what shape relevant policy must take is to be explained by Mr. Peter C. Fusaro, Chairman of Global Change Associates.
With his deep background in renewable energy and sustainability, Mr. Fusaro is an expert who has successfully applied his ideas to policy-making and problem-solving in the past, and his ideas will be essential to bringing a solution to China’s air pollution problem as well as its ability to co-opt the surging renewables industry into its economic development.
Individual event is at a $30 fee; free for 2017 Knowledge Series Members. Event is free to credentialed media.
Space is limited. Please reserve your spot here.
