Jingting Fan is an Associate Professor of Economics at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB). Before joining CKGSB, he taught and earned tenure in the Department of Economics at Pennsylvania State University. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland (UMD) in 2017 and holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and mathematics from Tsinghua University.
His research focuses on firms’ global expansion and multinational corporations’ global R&D and production networks, trade and technology competition amid geopolitical tensions and uncertainty, talent mobility, and the economic effects of infrastructure investment. His work has appeared in top economics journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, and Journal of International Economics, and has received awards including the Best Paper Award at the China International Conference in Macroeconomics (CICM). He has been invited to deliver talks and participate in academic discussions at leading academic and policy institutions including Yale University, Stanford University, New York University, the University of Michigan, the Federal Reserve, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund. He currently serves as an Associate Editor of the Review of World Economics and the European Economic Review.
