About this event

Format: Online Webinar | Simultaneous English-Chinese Translation

Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and SDA Bocconi School of Management (SDA Bocconi) will launch the MM Art Indices, a groundbreaking initiative offering institutional-grade tools to track the performance of the global art market.

Developed by CKGSB’s Professor Mei Jianping in collaboration with SDA Bocconi’s professors Andrea Rurale and Brunella Bruno, the MM Art Indices provide comprehensive, data-driven insights into art market trends across Asia-Africa-Oceania, Europe, and the Americas. These indices—based on data from Sotheby’s, Christie’s, and Phillips from 1970 to 2025—bring unprecedented transparency and analytical rigor to art investment, a sector increasingly attracting attention from collectors, investors, and policymakers alike.

At this special event, the researchers behind the initiative will present key findings from the Indices’ newly released MM Continental Art Price Index, as well as surprising results for Spring 2025 of the MM Chinese Art Indices, which have been released since 2023. Topics will include regional returns, market volatility, and shifting collector preferences. The webinar will also introduce the establishment of the Art Market and Finance Observatory, hosted by SDA Bocconi in Milan, which will serve as a hub for future research and innovation at the intersection of fine art and finance.

Whether you are an art collector, investor, academic, or cultural institution, this webinar will offer timely perspectives on how data is reshaping the global art market. A live Q&A session will follow the presentations.

Join us as we unveil the tools that could redefine art valuation and investment strategy for years to come!
