Xiaobo Yu is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Leeds School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from Columbia Business School in 2024. Prior to his PhD, he obtained a master’s degree in Economics from Toulouse School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree from Fudan University.
Xiaobo’s research has a focus on corporate finance theory and financial intermediation. His papers unveiled a novel interaction of bankruptcy court and out-of-court debt restructuring and shed lights on the effect debt maturity on financial stability in the interbank network; His current research explores the systematic difference of exchange offers in various financial transactions and the optimal design of liquidity insurance contract. He is the recipient of the Finance Theory Group (FTG) 2024 Best Paper Award (first-place winner) and the Brattle Group Ph.D. Candidate Awards For Outstanding Research.
