Since venturing overseas in 1996, Huawei now has a multinational market network and international R&D platform with business operations in over 170 countries and regions, provides services for 45 of the world’s top 50 telecommunications operators and covers a third of the planet’s population. But despite its success, Huawei has gone through a series of setbacks in the U.S. market. This case focuses on two M&A failures. Through an analysis of Huawei’s North American strategy, it examines lessons learned.
