Navigating the Future of Smart Cities: Marek Stawiński’s Vision for NaviParking

Marek Stawiński, the Founder and CEO of NaviParking, is not just an entrepreneur but a visionary leader shaping the future of urban mobility. With over 25 years of experience in enterprise architecture for industries like telecom and banking, Marek brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. His journey with NaviParking began with a mission to revolutionize parking experiences and contribute to the development of smart cities worldwide.

NaviParking, established in 2015 as part of Ekinnolab software house, is at the forefront of leveraging AI and smart parking technologies. Marek’s vision extends beyond creating a seamless parking experience; it encompasses building a sustainable ecosystem that fosters innovation and supports the transformation to electromobility. By harnessing parking open data and cutting-edge technologies, NaviParking addresses critical urban mobility challenges.

One of the key pillars of NaviParking’s strategy is collaboration and open innovation. Marek actively promotes interoperability and standardization through initiatives like The European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities, TMForum’s City-as-a-Platform and Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC). NaviParking’s Open API facilitates seamless integration with partners like Autopay and car-sharing services, enabling the rapid development of new mobility services and enhancing the overall user experience.

Participating in CKGSB’s Building Digital Ecosystems Program in partnership with IMD in Lausanne and then the Global Unicorn Program in Dubai provided Marek the opportunity to connect with other unicorn companies, meet with investors and create ecosystems, all of which have been instrumental in shaping NaviParking’s ambitions and growth trajectory. Marek emphasizes the importance of learning from other industry leaders and building a network of strategic partnerships. These partnerships extend beyond traditional boundaries, integrating parking solutions with broader mobility ecosystems and contributing to smarter and greener cities.

AI plays a pivotal role in NaviParking’s vision for the future. Marek’s data team focuses on making data accessible and leveraging AI algorithms to drive innovation. Predictive analytics for parking capacity, dynamic pricing strategies, and optimizing transportation logistics are just a few examples of how AI is transforming urban mobility.

However, navigating the challenges of the industry, such as the lack of standards and cultural barriers, requires persistence and effective communication. Marek’s experience in overcoming these challenges through partnerships and digital ecosystems underscores the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change.

In Marek’s words, “Building a digital ecosystem of partners powered by our platform is about organizing collaborations and participating in programs that foster innovation. It’s a journey towards creating value, solving challenges, and ultimately, shaping the future of smart cities.”

As NaviParking continues to innovate and expand its footprint globally, Marek Stawiński remains at the helm, steering the company towards a future where sustainable mobility and smart technologies converge for the betterment of urban life.
