Profile of CKGSB appears in Korean newspaper Chosunllbo

The Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), established with support from the Li Ka Shing Foundation, has launched a new scholarship for Korean students—the CKGSB Jang Bo Go Scholarship.

The Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), established with support from the Li Ka Shing Foundation, has launched a new scholarship for Korean students—the CKGSB Jang Bo Go Scholarship. Intended to attract Korea’s best business talent from Korea, the scholarship was announced on January 15 in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul.

CKGSB was established with support from Mr. Li Ka-shing, the richest man in Asia and also a world-renowned businessman, who believes that “the development of China’s economy requires world-class leaders”. CKGSB is the first non-profit private business school in China. This is the first time that CKGSB has launched a scholarship specifically for Korean students. The CKGSB Jang Bo Go Scholarship aims to select South Koreans with passion, vision, and innovative and challenging minds, in order to educate them to be leaders of the emerging global economy.

CKGSB is a not-for-profit organization and China’s first privately funded and faculty-governed business school. CKGSB’s curriculum is designed by CKGSB’s faculty, who come from leading business schools in the United States and Europe, such as Columbia, INSEAD, NYU, Stanford, UCLA, Wharton, Yale, etc. With a strong foundation on both Western economic theories and insight onhumanities, CKGSB’s innovative curriculum combines both Eastern and Westernknowledge to give students a more holistic view of business and development, which they can apply in any situation. Pioneering a unique path, CKGSB adheresto a principle to “not participate in the Western European rankings for business schools”.

At the same time, CKGSB encourages outstanding academic research. From 2006 to 2011, CKGSB was recognized as the 6th highest for its per capita research publication rate in top academic journals by its professors. CKGSB combines the best in the East and West to successfully develop a new global businesseducation model.

With campuses in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen and offices in Hong Kong, London, and New York, CKGSB continues to build a global presence by advancing exchanges and cooperative projects with world famous business schools such as Cambridge University, the London School of Business, Insead, Stanford University, and UCLA.

CKGSB’s alumni network includes influential chief executive officers (CEO) and top management in leading multinational enterprises, both state-owned and private enterprises, who are active on the world stage. This network also includes members of China’s central committee and other high-level government officials. Connecting business leaders in both China and around the world, CKGSB’s alumni network has become known as the most influential one in China. The alumni network includes inspirational figures such as Jack Ma, the President of the world’s largest electronic business enterprise, the Alibaba group; Fu Chengyu, Chairman of Sinopec; Jason Zhang, Chairman of Fox Media; Guo Guangchang, Chairman of China’s largest private enterprise, Fosun Group; andDing Shizhong, Chairman of the leading sporting goods manufacturer, Anta Sports.
