CKGSB MBA has expanded its scholarship program for supporting overseas Chinese and individuals of Chinese heritage to study in China and become valuable members of China’s business community. This expansion increases the funds CKGSB MBA dedicates to the Scholarship for Outstanding Overseas Chinese Professionals to 5 Million RMB.

“CKGSB appreciates the considerable talent and expertise in the overseas Chinese community and the vital role that they play in China’s continuing development. China offers many career opportunities but many overseas Chinese find it difficult to fully access the market because they have lost touch with the business community and environment here. CKGSB’s MBA program is a leader in bridging overseas Chinese students with China’s opportunity. Our students are brought to the forefront of business in China through the research and knowledge of our faculty and gain a real understanding of how to succeed here through learning experiences such as our Diversified Consulting Projects and alumni mentorships.  Expanding this scholarship will help many more overseas Chinese to benefit from the program and make their mark on China.” May Xia, Associate Director for CKGSB’s MBA program, pointed out.

The additional funding is estimated to increase the number of overseas Chinese participating in the program in Beijing substantially. This is good news for companies in China, according to Martin Zhu, Assistant Director of CKGSB MBA’s Career Management Center.

“Companies in China are eager to hire overseas Chinese with graduate level skills. Bilingual or multilingual language proficiency, cross-cultural experience, and professional skills are assets for companies, both in China and global. By completing the CKGSB MBA program, overseas Chinese students gain an added advantage in the job market.”  Mr. Zhu said when discussing the career prospects of MBA graduates.

To apply for the Scholarship for Outstanding Overseas Chinese Professionals, applicants must be Chinese citizens or individuals with Chinese heritage residing outside of mainland China, complete an online application, and provide a brief essay describing what impact they plan to have on China in the future. Ideal applicants will have excellent academic backgrounds, more than 2 years of work experience demonstrating their leadership potential, and possess enthusiasm for pursuing a career related to China.

According to Sarah Feng, CKGSB’s Senior Manager for Marketing and Admissions, the additional funds are just one part of CKGSB MBA’s mission to support the development of young professionals and transform them into tomorrow’s business leaders; the greatest support that CKGSB offers to students is during the program by connecting students with successful Chinese business leaders and providing a pathway to succeed in business in China.
