Road to the Ivy League: US Immersion Program, a two-week, intensive opportunity for outstanding high school students who want to pursue admission to US colleges and universities and seek the skills and knowledge necessary to excel during their 4-year studies.

Mary Wadsworth Darby, Chief Representative of CKGSB (Americas), and Nariah Broadus, Director of Innovation and Growth at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, will discuss the current educational landscape at top colleges and universities in the US. Then, they will share the details of and answer questions regarding Road to the Ivy League, scheduled for July 23 – August 6, 2017.

This unique program offers rigorous coursework in business analytics, economics, finance, accounting, and marketing with world-leading faculty from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, a member of the Ivy League, combined with transformative out-of-classroom experiences and career development to hone students’ leadership potential within the U.S. educational model. Students will get a deep dive into campus life as an undergraduate at a liberal arts Ivy League institution on a rural college campus in New Hampshire before traveling to New York City where they’ll be exposed to an urban campus amongst a rich array of professional and cultural experiences.

CKGSB engages professors who are both global authorities and thought leaders to illuminate the issues most pertinent to promising youth. CKGSB excels in its expertise in developing leadership skills, innovative focus and network that young students will need to succeed in a globalized world, where China is an important player. Dartmouth and its Tuck School of Business are recognized near and far for the strength of their commitment to delivering a strong undergraduate foundation and programs that help students develop the skills to jumpstart their careers in a variety of fields—financial services, engineering, medical, technology companies, and more.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Mary Wadsworth Darby
Chief Representative, CKGSB Americas

As Chief Representative of CKGSB Americas, Mary helps identify CKGSB Americas strategic initiatives and build brand awareness in both North and South America. She works closely with all the CKGSB offices to strengthen cross marketing and program development. Mary also works with CKGSB partnering schools and other key relationships to identify new business and opportunities for collaboration in response to changes in market dynamics and trade and capital flows.

Previously, Mary worked for Morgan Stanley in Firm Management and headed the Asia and China Desks. She moved to HK and headed Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) in Hong Kong and developed the first institutional sales initiative with Chinese financial entities. At Morgan Stanley she also created and ran a series of educational programs for the fixed income division and other departments with a focus on China.

Mary has worked extensively in China and Asia for more than 25 years. She founded Peridot Asia Advisors, a strategic transactions advisory firm. She has substantial experience negotiating market entry strategies over a broad range of industries, as well as with Chinese financial institutions, state-owned enterprises, regulatory authorities and other government entities responsible for regulating and supervising the insurance and banking industries. Her background also includes serving as Executive Director of the America-China Society, a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of US-China relations chaired by former US Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and the late Cyrus Vance.

Mary earned her BA degree from Princeton University. A fluent Mandarin speaker, she also holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and an MIA from Columbia School of International and Public Affairs. She is the Chair of the Hong Kong Association of New York; serves as a Senior Professional Fellow at the Chazen Institute at Columbia Business School; a Trustee of Concord Academy; and was for many years a Trustee of Princeton-in-Asia. She serves as an Independent Director of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC, USA). She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Nariah Broadus
Director of Innovation and Growth, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth

As Director of Innovation and Growth at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Nariah Broadus provides strategic, tactical, and administrative oversight and guidance to Tuck Executive Education, Tuck Business Bridge, Tuck research centers and initiatives, and new business opportunities.

Nariah is a creative, strategic communicator and project manager with over fifteen years of experience at the intersection of higher education administration and people management. Naturally inquisitive, she’s a systematic problem-solver who’s passionate about helping individuals and teams develop their strengths.

Nariah is personally committed to the mentorship and development of new professionals and brings significant experience working with and supervising volunteers, students, and staff.

Her specialties include: change management, project and program management, and moving from vision to implementation.
