Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and Nikkei Business Publications (Nikkei BP) will co-organize the 3rd China-Japan CEO Forum in Tokyo, Japan, on March 8, 2012. The full-day forum—which will bring together top executives, government leaders and scholars from China and Japan—is centered on building bridges for sustainable growth between the two nations.

The China-Japan CEO Forum takes on special meaning this year because 2012 is the 40th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese relations. More than 400 participants will come together to mark this important anniversary by seeking ways to strengthen cooperation and build bonds between enterprises in Asia’s two largest economies.

Among the influential attendees will be students from CKGSB, including participants in the school’s elite China CEO Program. The globally-delivered course is open to high-level executives from China’s most successful companies and has been called a “who’s who of Chinese business” by Businessweek.

Additionally, CKGSB Founding Dean Dr. XIANG Bing will deliver a keynote speech on win-win strategies for Chinese and Japanese enterprises, examining the issue from the perspective of the relationship and interdependency of the two economies. CKGSB professors CHEN Long and Juliet (Rui) ZHU will also host dialogue sessions.

Joining the participants from China will also be a number of leading executives from Japanese enterprises. Among these are: Mr. Suzuki Toshifumi, president and CEO of Seven & i; Mr. Chuzo Matsui, president and executive director of MUJI; and Mr. Hiroshi Mikitani, CEO of Rakuten Co. These business leaders from both nations will deliver speeches and exchange ideas on the topics of: globalization and global branding; new economies and new opportunities; lean management; and innovation.

The forum is another important step in CKGSB’s mission of being a constructive innovator in global business that helps companies bridge cultural and economic gaps to develop new strategies for the changing global business landscape.
