On December 19, the Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held a Korea & China ICT Innovation Forum in Beijing. The forum’s theme was ‘ICT Innovation Strategy for Creative Economy’, and CKGSB Professor Dong-Sung Cho opened the forum with a keynote speech about “Strategy for the Korean Way of Creativity”.
On December 19, the Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held a Korea & China ICT Innovation Forum in Beijing.
Co-hosted with CKGSB, the ‘Korea-China ICT Innovation Forum’ aimed to explore and create diverse cooperation models between China and Korea, respectively the world’s biggest ICT market and an ICT power.
The forum’s theme was ‘ICT Innovation Strategy for Creative Economy’, and CKGSB Professor Dong-Sung Cho opened the forum with a keynote speech about “Strategy for the Korean Way of Creativity”.
Also at the Korea-China ICT Innovation Forum, Yanghee Choi, the Korean Minister of MSIP met Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun and asked him his keys to success, organization model, and strategies in software. Lei Jun explained that his company had made a difference by “changing the method of a smartphone hardware’s approach to the internet, and constantly upgrading user interface (MIUI) by actively accepting users’ demands”. He added that he had received great help from the tech community in Beijing’s Zhongguancun area, considered the Chinese Silicon Valley.
The forum involved about 300 ICT businessmen from Korea and China, including related organizations. The showcase was composed of four divisions. Major IT firms such as China Mobile, Huawei, Xiaomi, Lenovo and Baidu presented new technology to about 300 Chinese buyers.
