At 3 am on March 23, 2010 in Beijing, David Drummond, senior vice president and chief legal counsel for Google, published an official blogpost saying that Google had stopped censoring website, image and information search results on Google.cn, and would redirect user traffic to Google.com.uk. Traffic from mainland China would be directed via Hong Kong-based servers, and users with mainland IPs would receive uncensored search results in simplified Chinese.
