China's World-Class Business School

I think it is really important at this stage for any Entrepreneur to be open to opportunities. If you don’t know much about China, it is a big missing link in your education.”

Sir Tom Hunter
Chairman, The Hunter Foundation

CKGSB, China's first independent, non-profit business school, opened a representative office in London in 2011.

Today, China symbolises both the opportunities and risks that global businesses face, but real knowledge and understanding of how to do business with China remains scarce. We pride ourselves on being the only Chinese business school with a bicultural faculty and the capacity to interpret global business in the context of both China and the West.

Headed by Ji Bo, the European team’s goal is to transform widely held opinions of working with China into knowledge in the belief that is what will drive the new frontier of global business leaders.

Our professors, who represent the best in global business education with experience spanning Wharton, Stanford, Harvard and INSEAD, exemplify the school’s mission to create world-class knowledge and global business leadership.

We ensure that our knowledge is consistently cutting-edge through our CKGSB research centers and active case studies. We disseminate this expertise through a quarterly English language magazine and CKGSB Knowledge website.

Alumni Network

Our 9,000+ strong alumni network is recognised as one of the most exclusive in China; they have founded or manage companies representing one sixth of China’s GDP (a total of over $1 trillion), making their combined impact equivalent to the world’s 16th largest economy.

Executive China Immersion

Executive China Immersion is a five day program designed for prospective regional or country directors. The program explores the fundamental differences that characterize China. With a legacy of 5,000 years of civilization, the country’s sense of identity and world views continue to inform its behaviors at all levels of state, business and society. By understanding its recent past and influence on established culture, participants develop an understanding of the Chinese and how best to engage at a professional and personal level. The program also explores how the Chinese have adopted the key principles of Western capitalism such as finance, marketing, innovation, even leadership—and adapted them to the specifically Chinese context.

Boardroom Briefing

Our Boardroom Briefings are designed for boards and management committees. A program of between one and three days’ duration, it provides boards and management committees with an understanding of the global implications of the rise of China, how the political system works and its inter-relationship with business. Accessing the cultural underpinnings that characterize the Chinese, the program also offers an understanding of the different leadership and entrepreneurial styles prevalent in the country and how Western companies can best structure their successful engagement with China.

CKGSB's European representative office is located at 12, St. James’s Square. St. James's Square is the only square in the exclusive St. James’s district of the City of Westminster.  It has predominantly Georgian and neo-Georgian architecture and a private garden in the center.  For its first two hundred or so years it was one of the three or four most fashionable residential addresses in London, and it is now home to the headquarters of a number of well-known businesses, including BP and Rio Tinto, CKGSB and the exclusive East India Club. It is also home to The London Library and Chatham House. The square's main feature is an equestrian statue of William III erected in 1808.

CKGSB’s presence in St. James’s Square London facilitates senior European executive access to CKGSB’s unique China knowledge and networks.
