Columbia Business School MBA students visit CKGSB

August 28, 2015

CKGSB has hosted another successful visit to its Beijing campus from group of international students, this time from the prestigious Columbia Business School in New York City.

37 MBA students from Columbia Business School (CBS) arrived in Beijing in late August to start their one-week exchange module at CKGSB. During the trip, they discover what makes the Chinese business environment tick and understand the strategic differences between economies in the East and the West, as well as the idiosyncrasies of the Chinese market.

As a thought leader in Chinese market research & analysis, and by leveraging original research, faculty and staff at CKGSB facilitate an exclusive peek under the hood of the China business engine for their CBS visitors through a variety of lectures, case studies and company visits. During spare time in the content-rich, tightly-packed program, the group also visits landmark sites in Beijing to gain a better sense of the cultural context of Chinese society.

During the first day, Professor Li Haitao, Associate Dean of the MBA program, gave a welcome speech, before delivering his lecture “New Development of China’s Financial Markets under Current Trends”. Prof. Li emphasized that with great risk comes great opportunity.

Following Prof Li’s class, CBS Professor Jiang Wei remarked that she is proud of China’s development over the past two decades, as epitomized by the rise of CKGSB. “CKGSB was founded just about ten years ago and within a decade has already grown to a world class business school. I’m surprised there are so many outstanding young professionals here, and to bring CBS MBA students and CKGSB students together to discuss China’s business insights is a really great thing”.
