2017 China Module Wraps Up with High Scores

2017-05-26 · Beijing

This year's MBA China Module wrapped up with a farewell dinner on May 19 2017 in Beijing. With participants from University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and Spain’s ESIC School of Business & Marketing, this year’s China Module saw a record high number of participants, doubling compared to last year, as well as more than 10 countries represented.  In addition, this year’s China Module also coincided with the One Belt One Road summit in Beijing, offering students a unique opportunity to gain a front row view to some of the pageantries as Beijing welcomed world leaders from over 30 countries.

During this year’s China module, students attended lectures featuring renowned CKGSB professors such as Prof. Haitao LI, Prof. TENG Bingshen, Prof. Leslie YOUng, and Founding Dean XIANG BING. Prof. LI commented, “This year’s China Module is special because it coincided with the One Belt One Road Summit which further highlighted the relevance and importance of CKGSB’s China Module”.  Prof. WANG Yanbo, who led the China Module this year, remarks: “The MBA China Module is a very unique set up where foreign and Chinese students mingled and worked together over two weeks. This truly helped them to learn from each other, getting a first-hand experience about cross-cultural differences in perspectives, work styles, business strategies and implementation. As a faculty member, I had great fun interacting with this group of students, challenging them and being challenged by them. I hope this class will serve as a bridge that builds long-lasting friendship and collaborations among the students for them to jointly develop world-class companies in the 21st century.”

Participating students also gave 2017 China Module programming high scores. A University of Michigan MBA student writes:  “I enjoyed every moment of this program from lectures to company visits, cultural events and meeting precious CKGSB and ESIC students. I really appreciate all your kindest support in making the lecture very interactive and letting us think about the topics that we discussed in the class. This program has been an eye-opening experience for me and I will do my best to learn more about China moving forward.”
