The Cross Border M&A Trends of Chinese Companies at the World Knowledge Forum 2014

2014-10-15 · Seoul

Today, Chinese companies are actively pursuing M&As to enhance their standing in the overseas market. Over the past ten years, the number of M&As involving Chinese companies has increased significantly, with Chinese private companies become the primary force of acquisitions and many of them seeking targets overseas. The focus of Chinese cross-border M&As has also shifted from SOEs acquiring natural resources to private companies seeking new technologies and brands.

To learn more about the current situation of Chinese cross border M&As, CKGSB Professor Li Xiaoyang and Li Kan, Managing Partner of Long Capital & Partners and a CKGSB EMBA Student, will participate in the CKGSB MBA Session at the World Knowledge Forum 2014 held in Seoul, Korea. Established in 2000, the World Knowledge Forum is the largest business forum in Asia and brings together global leaders to address the importance of knowledge in meeting the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world. Under this year’s theme of ‘Invigorating the Global Economy’, notable speakers will include former French President Nicolas Sarkozy; Fan Gang, Director of National Economic Research Institute in China; Jeremy Rifkin, President, The Foundation on Economic Trends; and Karl-Ludwig Kley, Chairman of the executive board of Merck.

The registration fee for the three-day World Knowledge Forum for foreign passport holders who do not reside in Korea is $2,000.
