2015 CKGSB Global Forum New York Investment Forum: The Rise of China - Challenges and Opportunities
China is going through a major transformation from an investment-driven to an innovation-driven economy. The traditional export-led growth in the economy is shifting towards a more consumption-led model.
The CKGSB New York Investment Forum 2015, the first annual overseas forum to be hosted by the CKGSB MBA program, will focus on the emerging investment trend, financial reform and start-up business opportunities in China. Guest speakers from a range of different industry backgrounds share their unique perspectives in this informative and interactive session.

About the speakers
Dr. LI Haitao is the Dean’s Distinguished Chair Professor of Finance and Associate Dean for the MBA Program at CKGSB. Previously, he was the Jack D. Sparks Whirlpool Corporation Research Professor in the Finance Department of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also served on the faculty of the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. Dr. Li serves on the editorial boards of Management Science (the Department of Finance) and the International Review of Finance. Dr. Li holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Yale University.
Dr. Henry CAO is a Professor of Finance; Chair of CKGSB's Finance Department and serves as Academic Director of the school's Finance MBA. He earned a Ph.D. in finance in 1995 from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in pathology in 1991 from Yale University. Before joining CKGSB, he taught at the University of California at Berkeley, the University of California at San Diego, Ohio State University, Carnegie Mellon and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Cao's research has been published in journals including the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Business, Review of Finance and Marketing Science.
Dr. WU Hao is Managing Partner and CEO of Sino-Century Investment Management Co., Ltd., a private equity firm that invests in high-growth private companies in China, with office in Shanghai, Beijing, and New York. Prior to Sino-Century, Dr. Wu worked at a number of financial service firms, including AIG Global Investments where he advised AIG companies in Asia and in Europe on investment strategies and Radian Group where he was a Managing Director and Head of Global Financial Products. Dr. Wu received his B.S. in Physics from Fudan University and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and MBA in Finance from University of Southern California. He also attended Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School. Dr. Wu holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA). Dr. Wu has served as the President of The Chinese Finance Association (TCFA).
Dr. LIU Wu, post-graduate visiting scholar and research scientist of Columbia University, partner of GBS&Co. Dr. Liu has more than fifteen years working for Wall Street. Throughout his career, Dr. Liu had taken the positions as Managing Director, Chief Risk Officer, Member of Investment Committee, Manager of Corporate Business, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Financial Consultant, Senior Analyst, as well as Financial Engineer. Dr. Liu had worked in several investment banks and asset management companies including Credit Suisse First Boston, Bank of New York, Lyra Capital (AUM: 1.9 billion USD), Provident Group Asset Management, Ivy Asset Management, AUM: 14 billion USD), GBS & Co., and financial investment consulting firm.
Dr. SHEN Yin, Ph.D. of Stanford University is an expert of U.S. real estate and asset securitization market and had successfully predicted the U.S. housing market crisis. Dr. Shen currently works in Deutsche Bank.
2005-2007 Dr. Shen was responsible for the securitization market trading model for J.P. Morgan & Chase
2002-2005 Dr. Shen was responsible for the search and trading strategy of securitization market for Goldman Sachs
U.S. mainstream media often publishes reports on Dr. Shen’s perspective. Dr. Shen’s weekly market update currently has more than ten thousand institutional subscribers over the globe.
Ms. LIU Yiting is the co-founder and CEO of LSUS Capital. LSUS Capital, a US investment consulting firm, provides professional investment services to Chinese investors in the US market. The firm is headquartered in Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, New York with offices in Houston, Beijing and Hong Kong. Prior to LSUS, Ms. Liu was the co-founder of Ray Shi Capital, a US fund management company focusing on Chinese stock investment. Before she joined Ray Shi Capital, Ms Liu was the Vice President at Vision Opportunity China Fund Limited in charge of the PE investment in China region. The growth rate of the fund was among the top in the industry under her leadership. Ms Liu has also worked for Pepsi Co. in the strategic development department and world leading strategy consulting firm BCG at its New York office. Ms Liu graduated from Harvard University with a joint degree in applied Mathematics and economics. Ms Liu is also a committee member of the Asian Financial Association.
