CIMC's Diversification Strategy

How to diversify and win?

In the 1990s, CIMC had the foresight to realize that China could become a global center for shipping container manufacturing. By pulling together its resources, CIMC took control of the situation, participating in and leading the reorganization of the industry, accelerating a shift from Japan and South Korea to China.

While consolidating its position in containers, CIMC diversified into airport equipment, road transportation, energy, chemical and food production equipment, and marine engineering equipment. At each step of the way, CIMC’s experience in the container market and its strong M&A strategy, were its secret weapons.
