    Two exceptional Chinese unicorn start-ups founded by CKGSB alumni were highlighted in Aju Business Daily, one of Korean economic dailies. The article introduced prominent unicorn startups in China based on the ‘Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018’ announcement, in which two CKGSB alumni were listed among the top 30 influential leaders in the whole Asia: Su Chunzi and Zhao Yiyang. Su Chunzi is the investor and the former vice president of an online flower platform FLOWERPLUS, who graduated Finance MBA in CKGSB. Zhao Yiyang, who attended CKGSB’s EMBA course, is the co-founder of Unisound - the largest independent vocal platform in China.     On June 4, Founding Dean Xiang Bing’s special lecture, co-hosted by CKGSB and aSSIST (a Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies), was held successfully in Korea. More than 70 people - including scholars, executives, and related students - attended the seminar and listened enthusiastically to the dean’s insights regarding Chinese economy and firms. The lecture, which was titled ‘Chinese Transformation after 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China’ was introduced in six topics, where each topic elaborated the past, present, and future of China’s economy.

    The completion ceremony of the 6th Dong-A Economy Leader’s Academy (DELA), a leadership course developed by South Korea’s The Dong-A Ilbo, was held at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) in Shenzhen on April 27. CKGSB has been operating the program with the media for six consecutive years since 2013. The professors including Assistant Dean Zhou Li attended the ceremony, and the program participants received the completion certificates. Participants had attended seminars by the faculty and visited corporations in Shenzhen during their stay. Assistant Dean Zhou Li remarked that Chinese corporations’ innovation model began from founders born in 1960s and 70s, which has now been passed down to new leaders, who will spearhead China’s new growth model.

    Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and Australia’s Victorian Government have formally announced a collaboration aimed at enhancing ties and a deeper understanding between Chinese and Australian businesses. The partnership, which kicked off with a joint workshop and panel event in Beijing, will consist of collaboration on events and executive education programs to address business opportunities and challenges of interest to Chinese and Australian executives.

With investment from SoftBank, Alibaba grew up to defeat eBay with Taobao. An interview with Teng Bingsheng, Associate Dean for Asia and Europe and Professor of Strategic Management of CKGSB, was included in the article regarding the case of Alibaba.
